Four Indian-American children are amongst five winners of a prestigious science and engineering competition for middle school students in the United States.
Akilan Sankaran won the coveted $25,000 Samueli Foundation Prize, the top award in the Broadcom MASTERS. The fourteen year old student from Albuquerque New Mexico bagged the prize with a math Project – The first student to do so in the competition’s 11-year history. The winners were selected from amongst 30 finalists out of over 1500 applicants from all over the country.
