19-year-old arrested in NY for attack on Sikhs

Another suspect involved in the incident involving two Sikh men was also apprehended by the police.

Vernon Douglas, a 19-year-old from Brownsville, has been detained and awaits assault charges for his possible involvement in the violent assault on Nirmal Singh, a 70-year-old man, on April 3 and for robbing and assaulting two other Sikh men on April 12.

According to the NYPD (New York City Police Department), Douglas was arrested in Brooklyn on Thursday and charged with three counts each of hate crime and aggravated assault, as well as one count of assault of a victim older than 65.
