Around 8,000 to 10,000 people were present and enjoyed the 23rd Dushahra (Dussehra) Festival at Lake Papaianni Park in Edison, New Jersey, according to organizers. People were all in and out of the grounds from 1 pm to 8:30 pm, while the festival culminated with the burning of Ravan's effigy.

There were at least 35 stalls offering Indian cuisine as well as clothes, jewelry, and a variety of other items, creating a joyful and festive environment. The event was organized by Indo-American Festivals and funded by the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.
