Sikh community member requests US Congress to safeguard all minority institutions

Kaleka's testimony and preparation were assisted by the Sikh Coalition, which had previously filed its own report to Congress on the need for policy reform.

Seven Sikh community members were slain the assault on the Oak Creek gurdwara in Wisconsin earlier in 2012. Pardeep Singh Kaleka, the son of Satwant Singh Kaleka, one of the seven Sikh members assaulted, is urging lawmakers in the United States to safeguard religious and other minority organizations.

In a hearing titled The Rise in Violence Against Minority Institutions, Kaleka appeared before the House Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security on Feb. 17, 2022.
