A street called Cheema Drive in Canada’s Winnipeg

Canada has honored India and Gulzar Singh Cheema by christening a street in Winnipeg as Cheema Drive. Winnipeg is the capital of the Canadian province of Manitoba.

Gulzar Singh Cheema practices family medicine in British Columbia and is the first Indian-born Canadian doctor to be elected to a legislative assembly in the country in 1988. He was re-elected in 1990 for the Liberal party in The Maples.
