The Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) has expressed interest in creating awareness on cervical cancer. In the upcoming Global Healthcare Summit (GHS) 2022, the association is set to launch a campaign in India during Jan., observing it as the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 85 percent of the deaths due to cervical cancer occur in low and middle-income countries. Cervical cancer is the fourth common cancer type found among women. Unfortunately, many women seek the help of a doctor or treatment only after cancer has already advanced.
