Mammootty and Mohanlal, two Malayalam superstars, have earned the UAE's golden visa, allowing them long-term residence in UAE.  Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, greeted the stars and presented them with the Golden Visa.

According to the UAE government portal, the UAE established a new system for these visas in 2019, allowing foreigners to “live, work, and study in the UAE without the need for a native sponsor and with 100% ownership of their firm on the UAE's mainland.” These visas will be valid for five or 10 years and will automatically renew.
