American Academy of Arts and Sciences announces new Indian-origin members
Indian novelist Salman Rushdie and Fashion Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee are amongst the several Indians inducted into the American Academy of Arts & Sciences this year.

The American Academy of Arts and Sciences has elected several Indians from around the world to be members of the august body, which “honors excellence and convenes leaders to examine new ideas and address issues of importance to the nation and the world, and advance the public good.”
The announcement list inducted Indians from the United States, United Kingdom and India in a variety of fields ranging from the sciences to the arts and humanities.
