Anerood Jugnauth, an example for leaders of Indian descent

As a child growing up in his constituency, I have regularly attended various socio-cultural events where he would deliver speeches in Creole, interspersed by words in Hindi and Bhojpuri, writes ASHVEEN KUTOWAROO from Mauritius, remembering his beloved leader.

The torchbearer of the economic miracle of the mid-1980s, the father of modern Mauritius, Sir Aneerood Jugnauth (SAJ) departed for the heavenly abode on June 3, 2021.

A man of great vision, the architect of post-independence Mauritius, SAJ will be sorely missed, not only by Mauritians but also by leaders around the world.
