To commemorate India's Republic Day, the Association of Indo Americans (AIA), a group of 38+ Indian nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, held "Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav." Because of the ongoing pandemic, the event was held virtually and aired live on YouTube.

Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, India's consul general in San Francisco, spoke at the event and praised the life and vigor of the Indian American community in the Bay Area. He also mentioned how, via their social, economic, and cultural engagement in mainstream America, they had played a significant role in cementing the connection between the United States and India.
