A Sydney court has sentenced an Indian man on a student visa in Australia, Vishal Jood, to 12-month-jail for assault and destroying or damaging property.

The New South Wales police arrested Vishal Jood for his role in a series of violent attacks in the city's western Suburb, Parramatta.
