As Australia's economy recovers, the government has proposed significant reforms to skilled worker visas. The adjustments will enable highly qualified migrants to stay in the country and continue working in key sectors.

"This is a particular concession in recognition of the highly skilled migrant workers who opted to remain in Australia during the epidemic while addressing Australia's critical needs. This permits them to remain here while also providing them with a road to Australian citizenship," said Alex Hawke, Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services, and Multicultural Affairs.
