Australia restricts international students from changing courses under new law

The Student visa (subclass 500) is a temporary visa that allows students to study in the country for up to 5 years, travel in and out of the country, and work in any industry for an unlimited period as a temporary solution.

International students enrolled in Australian universities will be unable to modify their course of study, thesis topic, or research topic without prior clearance from the Minister, according to the new Australian student visa requirements.

Only applications received after July 1, 2022 are subject to the new visa criteria.
