Australia to strengthen ties with India

Australia to establish new Consulate General in Bengaluru and Centre of Excellence for Critical and Emerging Technology Policy.

On Wednesday, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the establishment of a new Consulate General in Bengaluru to boost Australia's technology engagement with India.

"I'm pleased to let you know that Australia is also seeking to establish a new Consulate General in Bengaluru," the Australian Prime Minister addressed during the 24th annual Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS). “We want to be a part of Bengaluru, which is the world's fastest-growing technological cluster. A third of India's unicorn companies are based there."
