Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Enthusiastic Indian Americans celebrating 75 years of independence

Having received enthusiastic participation from the US in the Rashtragaan initiative, it will be followed by a series of events in the US, that would happen in the coming months to celebrate, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The 75th Independence day of India, was celebrated with fervor across the United States. The day began with Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Indian Ambassador in Washington D.C., unfurling the tricolor and Indians expressing their patriotism through ‘Jana Gana Mana’. All the five Consulates of India in the US (New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and San Francisco) had the Indian flag hoisted.

Taranjit said, “It is an occasion to rededicate oneself to transform the dreams and aspirations of 1.3 billion Indian people into reality.” He also highlighted, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a 75-week program, which is being celebrated to mark 75 years of India’s Independence.
