Around 70 teaching staff of Kabul University in Afghanistan resigned from their posts after the Taliban-led government sacked vice chancellor Muhammad Osman Baburi and replaced him with Muhammad Ashraf Ghairat, according to a report by the Khaama news agency late Wednesday. Osman Baburi is a Ph.D. holder while Ghairat has just a four-year certification in liberal arts (BA) degree.

Ghairat is believed to have been a part of the Afghan government’s training service in the past, as well as the head of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's review assembly of universities in the southwestern part of the country.
