Berlin Film Festival to be a live event with a virtual market

The festival's representative told 'Variety': "We are very pleased with the positive signal from the authorities so far and feel encouraged to continue with the planning. We hope to be able to announce the final concept for the 2022 Berlinale very soon."

The Berlin Film Festival, which Indian American director M. Night Shyamalan chairs, will take place in Feb. as an in-person event, according to 'Variety'.

Even though the European Film Market, which usually runs simultaneously with the Berlinale, will be entirely virtual, the organizers have stated that the festival would go on as scheduled, with rigorous Covid regulations in place for delegates who choose to attend. In the following days, the protocol will be announced.
