Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while speaking of the incident in Parliament said, “The dead include the spouse of the CDS, Madhulika Rawat, his Defence Adviser Brig Lakhbinder Singh Lidder, Staff Officer Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Wing Commander Prithvi Singh Chauhan, Squadron Leader Kuldeep Singh, Junior Warrant Officer Rana Pratap Das, Junior Warrant Officer Arakkal Pradeep, Havildar Satpal Rai, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitendra Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, Lance Naik B Sai Teja.”

Brig Lakhbinder Singh Lidder, Military Adviser to the Chief of Defence, was an experienced army official. Commissioned into the Jammu Kashmir Rifles Lidder was an expert in Counterterrorism and was commander of border forces in Himachal and Tibet. He was the recipient of the Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal (2020).
