Captain Harpreet Chandi treks to South Pole covering 700 miles in 40 days

Chandi said, "It was tough getting here, and I want to thank everybody for their support."

Captain Harpreet Chandi, known as Polar Preet, has become the first Indian-origin woman to trek to the South Pole, covering 700 miles in 40 days. She is a 32-year-old Indian-origin British Sikh Army officer and Physiotherapist.

She resides in London. She is graduating with her master's in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary's University in London.
