Rahul Bajaj was the visionary Industrialist behind the middle class dream of pre-liberalized India - the Chetak, transforming Bajaj Auto into one of the most popular two-wheeler brands in the country.
Renowned Industrialist Rahul Bajaj, the former chairman of Bajaj Group passed away on Saturday afternoon at a Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra after a prolonged illness. He was 83.
A statement from the Bajaj Group said that he died in the "presence of his closest family members". Bajaj who had been suffering from pneumonia and a heart condition had been admitted at the hospital over a month ago.
