Cochin international airport retains spot as third-busiest airport

Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode airports also made the top ten list. Thiruvananthapuram came in eighth with 1,32,165 passengers, while Kozhikode came in sixth with 1,74,425 passengers.

Despite the increasing number of Covid cases in Kerala, Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has retained its position as India's third busiest airport in the international sector in 2021. According to the most recent Airport Authority of India (AA) statistics on international travel, CIAL ranked third in December, as it had in previous months of the year.

According to the report, CIAL received 3,01,338 foreign passengers in December 2021. While Delhi airport remained at the top of the list with 8,42,582 passengers, Mumbai airport remained at number two with 4,51,212 passengers over the same time period. CIAL is followed by Chennai International Airport, which handled 2,46,387 international passengers.
