With booster shots being distributed globally despite the fact that few countries have yet to receive their first jabs, the World Health Organisation (WHO) director-general said the distribution of Covid-19 booster shots is a scandal.

“There are six times more boosters administered globally than primary doses in low-income countries. Countries with the highest vaccine coverage continue to stockpile more vaccines, while low-income countries continue to wait. This is a scandal that must stop now,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO director-general.
