A panel discussion with Tushar Gandhi, great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi on 'Where was Bapu on the eve of Independence Day & where would he have been today, 75 years later' was organized by Indian diaspora Washington D.C. metro yesterday. The virtual event was moderator by Rohit Tripathi, founder of Young Indian, Gandhian and Progressive Activist.

During his address Tushar said “Bapu’s plan was to spend a day in Kolkata. On August 12 afternoon the Hindus started to protest which lasted for 48 hours. On August 15 the man who had made that tryst possible was oblivious to rejoicing, joy and celebration of freedom fast asleep on a mattress spread on the floor in a congested locality in Kolkata.”
