Egypt joins BRICS New Development Bank, India extends greetings

The bank was set up by the BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) nations with an aim to support emerging economies by mobilizing resources for infrastructure and sustainable development goals.


Egypt joined as the 4th member of the New Development Bank (NDB), established by the BRICS nations, on Wednesday. Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi took to Twitter to welcome Egypt on the occasion.

He highlighted that expansion of the bank’s membership will enable it to serve as a premier institution that aids development in emerging nations.
