Family from Gujarat, found dead at U.S.-Canada border, identified by Royal Canadian Mounted Police

The family were part of a group of 11 people attempting to cross the border on foot.

A family of four from Gujarat, who were found dead near the U.S.-Canada border earlier this month, were identified Jan. 26 by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba.

The family of four were identified as: Jagdishkumar Patel, 39; Vaishaliben Patel, 37; Vihangi Patel, 11; and Dharmik Patel, 3. Vihangi was earlier identified as a teenaged boy; she was found at some distance from her family.
