Season 13 of the MasterChef Australia saw wonderful food and contestants this year, with four of them having Indian roots.
Twenty-seven-year-old Fijian-Indian Justin Narayan from Perth won the MasterChef Australia this year after defeating the other two finalists, Kishwar Chowdhury and Pete Campbell in a pressure test.
He cooked two of Australian Chef Peter Gilmore’s dishes - shaved southern squid with koji butter and shiitake custard and a golden crackle and got a perfect score of 40/40.
“It’s a surreal feeling; it’s going to take a while to sink in. I’m keen to party with these guys. But huge thank you to the judges”, he said in a video posted by MasterChef Australia’s Twitter page. He also went on to say how MasterChef Australia has been the best experience of his life.
