A lawyer was admitted posthumously to the Singapore bar for the first time in the country. Nine days before his application for admission to the Singapore Bar, Vikram Kumar Tiwary died of cardiorespiratory disease.

Tiwary earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sheffield in 2018 and later passed the Part A and Part B Bar exams. On March 16, 2021, he submitted his application for admission to the Bar.
