
On Feb. 11, India stated that 20 businesses, including Tata Motors, Suzuki Motor Gujarat, Hyundai Motor India, and Mahindra & Mahindra, had been selected to participate in its 'Production Linked Incentive' (PLI) plan for automobiles and auto components. Ford India had shut down just six months ago, however, with fresh incentives, it is reopened.
The plan includes financial incentives to encourage local manufacture of Advanced Automotive Technology products and investment in the automotive manufacturing value chain.
