American Tennis legend Jimmy Connors on Friday urged the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve India's indigenously developed COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin for the country’s vaccination program. The US is yet to green light the Indian vaccine despite it being granted emergency-use listing (EUL) by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Eight-time Grand Slam Champion took to Twitter to raise the question as to why Covaxin has not been given a chance in the United States, although several other vaccines have been made available.
@CNN @FoxNews @US_FDA You always talk about Pfizer- J&J- Moderna vaccines — maybe a nod to #Covaxin - #ocgn - an opportunity to have an option - a choice- allow COVAXIN to get in the game— I’m no Dr.- but the others have had a chance- why not #COVAXIN !!! #Competition #lookitup
