Gandhi’s belongings with around 70 pieces are up for sale in an online auction by the East Bristol Auctions until May 21, 2022. The organization that earlier sold a pair of Gandhi’s spectacles for £260,000 in 2020, claim that the price can go up to US$650,000 this time.

The sale includes his self produced loincloth on the classic spinning wheel, Charkha, and the last photo of him, sitting in a chair, after which he died in a few weeks of time. It also featured letters Gandhi wrote while being in the prison alongside two pairs of wooden sandals and spectacles.

The auctioneer at East Bristol, Andrew Stowe claimed that, “These items are genuinely some of the most important things I have ever seen in an auction. This collection is so important to the history of our world — it will truly blow people away.”
