Germany commits €1.2Bn to advance climate action efforts in India

A report released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) earlier this year found that both India and Germany will experience adverse conditions due to climate change as they collectively contribute to 9% of the total greenhouse gas emissions of the world.

German ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development announced €1.2 billion to aid India’s fight against climate change. The financial commitments will aid in accelerating climate action efforts in India and provide impetus to the country's energy transmission, the ministry said.
