Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been selected by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for the next phase of the Passport Seva Programme. The contract allows for another two-year extension and is worth nearly US$1 billion.

TCS had won the first passport seva contract in 2088 which was worth INR 1000 crore. TCS transformed the delivery of passport-related services in 2008, digitizing processes, enabling online application submission, and setting global bench marks in timeliness, transparency, and reliability.
