The Chinese automobile manufacturing company Great Wall motors terminated its group of 8–10 Indian workers with immediate effect on Friday. The employees are said to have received severance pay for three months and variable pay for the entire year.

This came after the expiry of the term sheet the company had with General Motors (GM), to purchase the Talegaon plant on June 30. Great Wall finally made the decision to close the India office and shift its attention to Brazil, where it has recently invested US$2 billion in addition to purchasing a new production facility.
