Headwinds keep Asia on its toes
Sixteen months after taking over as the 46th President of the United States, this is Biden’s first trip to Asia and with two allies in this part of the world whose strategic relationship could not be more vital

The American President Joseph Biden is on a visit to South Korea and Japan and will wind up his five day trip with a QUAD meeting involving the leaders of India, Japan and Australia.

Given that federal elections are being held in Australia there is no word yet on who will represent Canberra at the Quadilateral Security Dialogue on May 24 or whether a Prime Minister from Australia will be the odd person joining the meet in the virtual mode. Nevertheless, the four leaders are meeting to give shape to the Indo-Pacific so as to meet the rising challenges and opportunities.
