Hridayam, starring Pranav Mohanlal, grossed INR 7.35 crores in its first three days. Written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan the film was released in theaters on Jan. 21. It is the third-largest opening day in recent Mollywood history. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (INR 7.42 crores) and Kurup (INR 3.20 crores) are both produced by Hridyam, a coming-of-age musical drama (INR. 7.01 crores).
Due to Covid-imposed restrictions, cinemas in Kerala and many other states were closed on Sunday. As a result, Sunday's collections were lower than expected; otherwise, it could have brought in more than INR 10.50 crores.
