Ida triggers fire in NJ banquet hall owned by Indian-American
Firefighters were unable to put out the fire because the parking lot was flooded

An explosion last week triggered by Hurricane Ida damaged the Saffron Banquet Hall in Manville, New Jersey. The halls is owned by Jayesh Mehta, an Indian-American. The hall was surrounded by floodwater.
Tom Kaminski, traffic reporter tweeted: “After a massive overnight explosion, the remains of the Saffron Banquet Hall in Manville, NJ continue to burn along the swollen Millstone River; 09.03.21.”
