Professor Thalappil Pradeep of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, who has developed technologies to provide clean water to over 1.2 crore people, has been named the laureate of the 10th edition of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water.

Pradeep, an IIT Madras Chemistry Professor, was chosen for the Award in the 'Creativity Prize' category for a 'breakthrough discovery' in any water-related field.
