In Global Innovation Index, India rises two places to 46th place

India rose by two notches to 46th place in the World Intellectual Property Organization's Global Innovation Index 2021 rankings on Sept. 20.

India has risen steadily in the Global Innovation Index over the last several years, from 81st place in 2015 to 46th place in 2021. As embodied in the Prime Ministers' clarion appeal for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, innovation has been at the vanguard of the fight against the unprecedented catastrophe brought by the Covid epidemic and will be critical in advancing the country's resilience and self-reliance.
