Nirmala Sitharaman, India's Finance Minister, met with Prudential Financials’ executive vice president and chief operational officer, Scott Sleyster, and Legatum's chief investment officer, Philip Vassiliou on oct 16 in NY and had asked two major investors to consider investing in India. The meetings were part of India's ongoing engagement with U.S. corporations and institutions.

Sitharaman’s meetings with Sleyster focused on capital bond market reforms, investor charters, and other measures.
