Millions of Indians were forced into poverty by the COVID-19 pandemic; however, the period after the initial strict lockdown witnessed a surprising decline in the nation's income inequality, says a recently published working paper.

The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) a US-based nonprofit that focuses on conducting and disseminating research on economics last month published a non-peer reviewed paper titled ‘Inequality in India declined during Covid’.
