India achieves 1 billion vaccinations: A major milestone
India celebrates achieving 1 Billion vaccine shots as Covid-19 cases in country sharply fall, with less than 15,000 new infections everyday.

India completed the administration of 1 billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday. The government celebrated this huge vaccine inoculation mile-stone by releasing a song by Kailash Kher and a promotional film. The Country’s largest national flag, a Khadi tricolor that was hand spun and weighing around 1400Kgs was also hoisted at the Red Fort in Delhi.

As a part of the celebration, all the important monuments under the Archaeological survey of India were being lit up to mark this remarkable event and announcements were also made on ships, railway stations and airplanes. Additionally, Ships anchored at Sea ports all over the country hooted at a designated time to celebrate the achievement.
