Following Aung San Suu Kyi arrest India stated that it is 'disturbed' by the recent judgment involving Myanmar's outspoken leader Suu Kyi and others adding that the rule of law and the democratic process must be respected

On Monday, Suu Kyi was sentenced to a four-year jail term by a Myanmar court which held her guilty of inciting dissent in the first of a series of the verdict. Although her sentence was subsequently reduced from four years to two years.
