India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, on a maiden visit to Armenia, has praised the Caucasian nation’s efforts for the welfare of the Indian community, particularly, students, during the pandemic and for facilitating their return under the Vande Bharat Mission.

“One important bridge between India and Armenia today is the presence of a large number of Indian students (about 3,000) who are pursuing medical education in Armenia,” said Jaishankar on Oct 13 during a joint press meet with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, according to an MEA release.
