Rajnath Singh and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Union Ministers for Defense and External Affairs, met with their Australian counterpart Peter Dutton and Marise Payne yesterday (Sept. 11) at the inaugural '2+2' high-level foreign and defense ministerial conversation between India and Australia, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar stated Afghanistan was "a key issue of discussion," while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke about "peace and prosperity of the whole region."

The 2+2 conversation underscores the relevance of the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
