India-Canada to re-launch Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement
Both countries agreed to re-launch the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations during their fifth Ministerial Dialogue on Trade and Investment (MDTI) in order to unlock the full potential of bilateral trade

India and Canada agreed to formally re-start talks on a potential free trade deal aimed at strengthening economic links between the two countries. Both sides will also consider an interim agreement, often known as an Early Progress Trade Agreement (EPTA), which could result in early commercial gains for both countries.

The issue was discussed during the fifth Ministerial Dialogue on Trade and Investment. The meeting was co-chaired by Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Canadian Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion, and International Trade Mary Ng.
Delighted to welcome Canadian Minister for International Trade @Mary_Ng to India.
