India, Japan researchers work toward enhancing road safety
Dikhsa Arya, lead researcher from India on the project said the successful implementation of the project will help in timely assessment of the roads and guarantee safer roads for everyone.
Indian and Japanese researchers are working to develop a robust smartphone application that uses artificial intelligence to access road safety hazards like potholes, cracks and bumps in order to prevent fatal road accidents.
IIT-Roorkee professor Durga Toshniwal, supervisor of the Indian team in the ongoing research, stressed on the socio-economic importance of good roads on as there are means to providing transportation services to people and commodities worldwide.
