India, Japan researchers work toward enhancing road safety

Indian and Japanese researchers are working to develop a robust smartphone application that uses artificial intelligence to access road safety hazards like potholes, cracks and bumps in order to prevent fatal road accidents.
IIT-Roorkee professor Durga Toshniwal, supervisor of the Indian team in the ongoing research, stressed on the socio-economic importance of good roads on as there are means to providing transportation services to people and commodities worldwide.
