The department of space is finalizing new policies on satellite-based communication and remote sensing that would aid penetration of the industry in the space applications domain.

Space is the limit

  • With a revised FDI policy, overseas firms will be able to invest in the space sector

  • India will set targets to increase its share in the global space economy from less than 2% to 10%

  • New policies to aid penetration of the industry in the space applications domain

  • Dr Umamaheshwaran will be looking after 40 applications by the industry for various space missions!

The drafts of policies to help the private sector, such as in the “satellite-based navigation” technology, are under review.
