The 12th ministerial meeting at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva devolved into last-minute negotiations as the member countries couldn’t reach an agreement on the important issues at the table. India has repeated its objection to a proposal to extend the global moratorium on customs taxes on electronic transmission.

WTO Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had agreed earlier in the day to prolong the ongoing 12th Ministerial Conference by one day since the 164 member countries struggled to reach an agreement on any of the important topics on the table.
