“Heat Wave Spell likely to continue over northwest India, Madhya Pradesh & Vidarbha, during next 5 days with slight reduction from 12 April, 2022”, the weather department reported adding that, “The maximum temperatures were above normal by 6-10°C at most parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana-Delhi; at many parts over West Rajasthan.”

While the summer season in India is known to be brutal and majority of Indian households do not have air conditioners or air coolers, Indians have over the years come up with their own traditional ways of getting respite from the heat.
