India to unlock climate finance to deal with climate change

The summit brought together stakeholders from India and UK to deliberate on climate action

Speaking at the Climate Finance and Technology Summit at Bloomberg headquarters in London, Bhupender Yadav, Indian Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said that developing countries like India must focus on climate finance to combat climate change.

“This climate finance must address the three essential Ss – scope, scale and speed,” he said adding that, “Climate change is not some disaster waiting for us in the future, but it’s our current reality. India is relying mainly on domestic resources to implement adaptation and mitigation action on mission mode.”
